KENT CARTER
June 1, 1930 - March 7, 2017 (age 86)

BIOGRAPHY
Kent Carter, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Beaver Valley hospital surrounded by family. He was born June 1, 1930 to Frank and Drucilla Carter. He married the love of his life Lois Mae Atkin July 3, 1947 in Beaver, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple April 6, 1983.

He is survived by his children: Linda K Black (Leland) of Beaver, Glena Rae White (Mike) of Cedar City, Ronald Frank Carter (Janet) of Minersville, Donetta Miller (David) of St. George. His brother LaVere Carter of Tooele and sister Bonnie Jean Holdaway of West Valley. Along with 15 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

Dad took great care of Mom in her later years and the twinkle in his eyes has been much dimmer since her passing. Dad had a love for his family, especially his grandchildren and little ones. They were the highlight of his life and he was adored by them. His thrill was to tease them, dance with them, hug them and laugh along with them. He loved hunting and camping with the boys, but always left in the evening to be at home with Mom.

Horses were his passion. Dad loved to ride, race, and train horses, especially alongside his son, Ronnie. Man did he like to tell his stories. He loved going to the Beaver Chevron to shoot the breeze with all the guys and they loved having him there. His love for his home town Minersville ran deep as life itself. Everyone was Dads friend and he was a friend to all. His seat at the Minersville station for morning chats will now sit empty and he will be sorely missed.

Kent is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Mae Atkin; son Val Kent Carter; son Ross Carter; brother Arlan B. Carter; brother Robert L Carter; and parents. Happy trails to you Dad, until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Minersville 2nd Ward. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the church and again on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 9-10:30 am at the Church. Interment will be in the Minersville Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
