Funeral services for Dennis Lynn Johnson will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Waynoka First United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Galena Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.

Dennis Lynn Johnson, son of Paul Eugene and Leojean (Kendall) Johnson, was born October 22, 1949, at Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away March 7, 2017, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years, 4 months, and 15 days.

Dennis attended Twin Oak School and graduated from Waynoka High School. He then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University for 2 years, then graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in animal husbandry.

On August 5, 1972, he was united in marriage to Lola Mae Hejduk at Enid, Oklahoma. They made their home near Waynoka where he engaged in ranching. He also worked for Woods County District 3 for many years.

Dennis was a member of the Waynoka First United Methodist Church since he was a child. He loved riding and being around horses.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Trisa Haynes; and one brother, Marvin Johnson.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Lola, of Waynoka; two sons, Keith Johnson of Waynoka and Bruce Johnson and wife, Teresa, of Lahoma; one brother, Kirk Johnson and wife, Avis, of Kiowa, Kansas; two sisters, Marilyn Beatty and husband, Bill, of Waynoka, and Suzanne Kernahan and husband, Jerry, of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Cassie Johnson, Nick Johnson, Tara Haynes, and Brant Haynes, all of Waynoka, Marissa Johnson of Wichita, Kansas, and Brayton Johnson of Enid; other relatives and friends.
