BURLEY - Colleen L Barnes, age 90, of Burley, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Cassia Regional Hospital.

She was born Colleen L. Tracy on August 22, 1926, to Jesse Tracy and Luella Coleman Tracy, in Yost, Utah. She joined her older brother, LaVere, and sister, Rhea. Brothers, NeVoy and Bryce then joined the family.

She married Richard G. Barnes on June 17, 1948 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple, and they made their home in Standrod, Idaho. Dick farmed and worked in construction. Colleen was a homemaker and she delivered mail for many years. She had many hobbies and friends. She loved to write and filled many notebooks with stories, poems, and observations.

Colleen is survived by her children: Dixie Gilbert, Paulette “Polly” Hall, Colyn RG (wife, Telvina) Barnes, and Lola (husband, Mike) Medley; three sisters-in-law; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Nanette Evans-Hooker (husband, Dale) and Robert Evans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Luella Tracy; husband, Richard G. Barnes; brothers, LaVere Tracy, NeVoy Tracy, and Bryce Tracy; sister, Rhea Evans; son-in-law, James Gilbert; great-grandson, Vincent Gilbert.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Highland Estates, and the Cassia Regional Hospital ICU and Intermountain Homecare & Hospice nurses and doctors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Intermountain Homecare & Hospice in Colleen’s name.

The funeral will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, March 14, at the Malta LDS Church, 280 N. 1st St, in Malta, Idaho, with Bishop Richard Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in the Standrod Cemetery.

There will be a viewing from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 11 until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
