Walter S Topor, 64, of 3 Mattson Blvd., retired 34-year police officer for the Ware Police Department, died Saturday in Mary Lane Hospital. Born in South Barre, he lived in Ware for most of his life. He retired with the rank of sergeant two months ago. He Enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on 10/10/1942 and was discharged on 10/12/1945. He was a sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II, a member of the Western Massachusetts Police Association, and a member of the Ware Council 183 Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of All Saints Church.
