TIRPAK – Mary T., 93, Johnstown, passed away Feb. 18, 2017 at the Alleghany Lutheran Home. Born Oct. 10, 1923 to the late George and Mary (Utlak) Teplica. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph J. Tirpak; and siblings, Anna Mae Cicon; George Teplitza; John Teplica; Joseph Teplica; Elizabeth Livingston; and infant siblings, Martha and William. Survived by sons, Joseph E. married to Denise Canby; Geoffrey R.; brother, Michael Teplica; sister, Yolanda DeFazio; cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was the oldest of ten children. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. For many years, Mary enjoyed her job as an elevator and switchboard operator for the City of Johnstown. She was known for always remembering birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and other special occasions, which she always sent cards for. Mary will always be remembered as being a loving wife, mom, sister, and aunt. Mary’s family would like to thank Dr. Wisniewski for the continuous care he has given Mary over the years, as well as the staff at the Alleghany Lutheran Home and Interim Hospice for their care and attention over the past several months. Friends will be received Thurs. Feb 23 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., with a Parastas service at 2 p.m., at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. FuneralMass will be held Fri. 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Monsignor Raymond Balta, officiating. Committal at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 'Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care'.
