Joyce (Berry) Stevens, 78, longtime Hereford resident and business woman (Stevens Five Star Car & Truck Center), was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in Hereford.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Hereford, Texas.

A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 pm, at Avenue Baptist Church, 130 N. 25 Mile Avenue, Hereford. Rev. Dan Eytcheson, Sr, Funeral Director and eternal family friend will officiate. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street, Hereford.

Joyce was born October 30, 1938, in Littleton, Colorado, to Hugh and Bessie (Dick) Berry. She married her sweetheart, best friend and the love of her life, L. D. “Steve” Stevens, on August 3, 1962 in Lakewood, Colorado. They moved to Hereford in 1981. Joyce was co-owner/operator along with her husband Steve, of Stevens 5-Star Car & Truck Center. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, as well as a friend to many. Joyce was Hereford Citizen of the Year in 2002, along with her husband Steve.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Bessie; and, 1 brother, Dale Berry.

Survivors include her husband Steve of the home; 1 son, Jerry and wife Linda of Hereford; 2 grandchildren, Jay Stevens of Hereford, Samantha Grunow and husband Chris of Albuquerque, NM; 1 brother, Roger Berry of Fountain Hills, AZ; 1 sister, Margaret Gray and husband Keith of Greeley, CO; and a host of many friends.

The family suggests memorials to Hereford Regional Medical Center, 540 W. 15th Street, Hereford, TX 79045 or Ronald McDonald House Charities, 1501 Streit Drive, Amarillo, TX 79106 or National Down Syndrome Society, P. O. Box 4916, New York, NY 10185.
