Martine Young Man Is Stricken
MARTINEZ, Feb 13. – Robert J. Ahern, 20-year-old son of Constable and Mrs. James Ahern of Port Costa, died at the hospital here today following an operation for appendicitis last night. He had been ill but a few days. Ahern was born at Port Costa. Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers, William P. and James J. Ahern, and five sisters, Mary, Dora (Nora), Anna and Frances Ahern of Port Costa and Mrs. Andrew Ahern of San Francisco.

AHERN – In Martinez, February 14, 1924, Robert Joseph Ahern of Port Costa, Contra Costa county, beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ahern and loving brother of William P., James., Mary E., Nort (Nora) J., Francis J. and Anna Ahern and Mrs. A. Ahern of San Francisco, a native of Port Cost, aged 20 years, 4 months and 23 days. A member of Leo Council No. 86, Y.M. I.
The funeral will take place Saturday February 16, 1924, at 9:30 a.m., from St. Patrick’s Church at Port Cost, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul; thence to st. Vincent Cemetery Vallejo for interment via Rodeo ferry.
