Vilda Vawdrey Swing Powers, age 96, passed away quietly March 13, 1998, of causes incident to age, at St. Joseph Villa in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born March 18, 1901 in Draper, Utah to Nephi and Emily Crapo Vawdrey. Raised in Parker, Idaho and attended schools there. She worked many years with her mother and owned the Manti Hotel for several years prior to World War II. Married Dallas T. Swing in 1942. He died in 1951. Married Arthur W. Powers in 1959. During their years together they traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and over 30 foreign countries. He died in 1973. She spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona and summers in Salt Lake City. Resided many years at the Crosslands Retirement Center and in her final years lived at St. Joseph Villa. She is known as "Aunt Vilda" to all her family and friends. Member of the 7th Day Adventist Church. She is survived by nieces and nephews and many, many friends. We will miss her!

Graveside services Tuesday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m., Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Monday evening 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, 10 to 11 a.m.
