Wayne G. McCall of Moran, Kansas, died today, Oct. 12, 2006, at Moran Manor at the age of 87.
He was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Ellsworth, Kansas, to Roy Albert and Edith (Beebe) McCall.
He grew up in the Ellsworth area. He was a graduate of Carneiro High School.
On June 7, 1937, he was married to Thelma Brady in Kansas City, KS. She survives.
He later moved to California and worked in the gold mines and logging industry. He returned to the Ellsworth area, where he built houses. The family moved to a farm near Moran in 1954.
He was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of Moran United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 245, Moran, and 32nd Degree Scottish Rites, Fort Scott, KS.
Other survivors include two sons, Randy and wife, Audrey, and Dan and his wife, Donna, of Moran, KS; a daughter, Burma June Gonzalez and husband, Ray, of Bronson, KS; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Arleigh, Hayes, Billy, Earl, and Eldon; and two sisters, Faye Basye and Laura May McKinnon.
Funeral services will be Saturday at Moran United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Moran Cemetery, Moran, KS. The Rev. Steve Paul will officiate.
Memorials to Moran United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.
