Port Wentworth, GA - Mrs. Gladys Barnwell Chilen, 61, died Sunday, January 8,1989, at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. The Sylvania native was a member of North Salem Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Nels J. Chilen of Savannah; two sons, Ricky Chilen of Savannah and Roger Chilen of Ellabell; four daughters, Mrs. Linda C. Arms of Guyton, Mrs. Deborah C. Roberts of Prairieville, LA, Mrs. Cathy C. Brannen of Garden City, and Mrs. Susan C. Dobson of Brooks, GA.; four brothers, Pete, Buster, Buck, and M.L. Barnwell all of Savannah; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Edenfield of Savannah and Mrs. Luree Thompson of Pooler, GA; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and a great grandchild and several nieces & nephews. Funeral 11a.m. Tuesday at Terry C. Massey Funeral Home, burial in Hillcrest Abbey West.
