We rejoice with our wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend moving to her eternal life with Christ. Sarah Barnes, 80, of Stanton, died, Saturday, March 4, 2017 in a Stanton hospital. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Stanton with Rev. Robert Louder and Rev. David Harp officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 Gilbreath Funeral Home.

She was born December 2, 1936 in Martin County to Henry Keys and Audrey Mae Louder. She married Stanley Barnes August 6, 1955, in Stanton, Texas.

Sarah was a giving person, always helping others. Serving as a volunteer EMT for 33 years, the only thing that stopped her was her age and the fact that she had to stop driving the ambulance at the age of 75. She taught CPR instructors how to teach CPR. She was a friend to everyone no matter who you were or what you did. She cared for people!

Survivors include her husband, Stanley Barnes of Stanton; sister, Linda Huckaby of Winters; daughter and son in law, Peggy and Rodney Hale of Tarzan; and son and daughter in law, Gary and Rhonda Barnes of Odessa. Four grandchildren and their spouses, Brandi and Ryan Grant of Gail, Joshua and Emily Barnes of Dallas, Heather and Jobe Christon of Stanton and Krista Barnes of Odessa; and eight great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Collin and Kurstyn Grant; Claire and Caroline Barnes; Jayden Christon and Rayleigh Barnes.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 3001 N. Big Spring St., Suite 104, Midland, Texas 79705. .
