After her death in 1728, Moses Rowley Jr. married Sarah Chapman of East Haddam on 25 September 1729 [town record]. She was the daughter of John Chapman of Colchester, CT as proven by his probate file [1750]. Moses and Sarah Rowley actually had two children as far as it is known: Sarah born 19 June 1730 and Nathaniel born 3 March 1732/3 [town records]. The date for Mercy's birth was incorrectly recorded as the year should have read "1728", not "1729". Her birth date conflicts with that of Sarah born in June 1730 as it is too close [9 months] and impossible.
