DISCREPANCIES RE DATE OF BIRTH: The McBrides' cemetery book shows the year of birth as 1848, which is, for example, consistent with her age of 21 reported in the 1870 Federal Census. But the death record shows her date of birth as 20 Aug 1845, which is inconsistent with the census reports. Unless someone comes up with better evidence, Aug 1847 will be used as the date of birth for this memorial because (a) that is consistent with her being listed as age 2 in the 1850 Federal Census (see below), and (b) it is consistent with the Aug 1847 date of birth listed for her in the 1900 census, even though it is inconsistent with the year of birth on the tombstone and inconsistent with the death record.
