A pot-luck memorial service will be held Sunday January 28 at 11 o'clock in the morning at the Animas Community Center. There will be no graveside service or burial. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Kidney Fund; Suite 1010, 6110 Executive Blvd.; Rockville, MD 20852 in her memory.
Billie was born in Lowell, AZ on February 5, 1941 to Elizabeth Rucastle and Joseph Moore. Her father passed away when she was two years old and her mother when she was ten. She and her half-sister were raised by her grandmother and her Aunt Mary Price in the southeast corner of Arizona. She met and married her husband David Dunagan in 1958 and they moved to the Needmore Ranch south of Animas. They raised 5 children, Doddie, Mona, Charles, Clint, and Buster. Billie worked beside her husband on the ranch and for many years operated the Dunagan Bakery in Animas.
Billie was preceded in death by three of her children, Charles Dunagan, Buster Dunagan, and Doddie Conover. She will eventually find her final resting place in the Middle Animas Cemetery with them and her husband.
Survivors include: husband David Dunagan, her two remaining children Clint and Mona, her sister Esther McConeghy, Aunt Mary and numerous cousins and in laws. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandbabies.
