Eliza was the daughter of Frances L Talbert and his first wife. In 1859 she became the wife of James Henry Allyn. The article "Stories of Pioneer Days Revealed At Historic Clackamas Cemetery" by Carolyn Patrick states that "...[a] place was made for Eliza Allen Talbert in 1862. She was a sister of John Talbert, who crossed the plains in 1852 and he was laid in the family plot in 1928."

James Henry Allyn, born 4 June 1932, in Canton, Fulton County, Illinois. He and his sister Nancy, and brother Ephraim, came to Oregon in 1852. He fought in Oregon Indian War of 1856. He married first to Eliza Marie Talbert, daughter of Francis L Talbert, in Clackamas County, Oregon on 23 January 1859. Eliza died 3 June 1862 in Oregon from a fall from her horse. She is buried in Marshfield, Clackamas County, Oregon. They only had one child.---

a. Frederick Stark Allyn, born 30 March 1961 in Multnomah County, Oregon, and drowned in the Columbia River near Cascade Locks on 21 July 1878. He was buried beside his mother in Marshfield. THe story is found in “The Daily Oregonian,” Portland Oregon 24 July 1878.
