Samuel Chaille, who died on last Saturday night at Vernon, was Record of Jennings County. He was born on Brush Creek, north of Butlerville, and acquired the indifferent education which could be obtained in our common schools at that time. During the war, he served three years in the army and was a faithful soldier. It was during this service that he contracted the disability which caused his death. He was an honest man and very conscientious. For many years he had be a consistent member of the Baptist Church. He had many estimable and amiable qualities which endeared him to numerous friends.
