Alvin Cornelius "A.C." Rees, 85, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Seminole. A.C. was born October 18, 1931 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ottis Cornelous and Hazel (Grove) Rees.

A.C. worked for the City of Seminole, Sanitation Department for over 20 years. A.C. served in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1952 and attained the rank of private, serving in the 45th Division.

A.C. married Dorothy Jean "Jeannie "(Shockey) Rees on May 17, 1953 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A. C. is survived by one son Stephen C. Rees, of Spring Hill, Florida, his daughter Cynthia Rees Hall of Seminole, Ok, a sister Marilynn Murdock of Prague, Ok, four grandchildren Jessica Chinni, Christopher Rees, Aaron Rees, Ericka Rees, and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are planned for 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with Christopher Rees officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Ok.
