Doris Jean Bond Trabits, 64, of Avonmore died Tuesday (Nov. 4, 2003) at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

She was born Feb. 11, 1939, in Wernersville.

A graduate of Easton College, where she received her nursing education, she obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to retiring, she was a registered nurse for 27 years at Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington.

Mrs. Trabits was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church in Avonmore and the Eastern Star in Apollo.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Dennis E. Trabits; a son, Duane E. (Jo-Ellen) Trabits; and a daughter, Denise J. Nealey, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three sisters, Mrs. Barbara (Neil) Werner of Wernersville, Sandy Keel of Reading and Mrs. Pat (John) Huntley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Also surviving are two grand-children, Corey Berlin and Danielle Berlin, also of Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin G. and Vesta Bohn Bond.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Officiating will be the Rev. John Ludwig. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery, Avonmore.
