Albert moved to Fresno California as a young man, making Fresno County his home for 68 years. He worked as a Sheet Metal Fabricator for 25 years and raised his family in the Fresno and Sanger area's. He was a longtime member of Life Tabernacle making it his church home for nearly 30 years.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother & 1 sister and 3 sons from his bonus family, Charlie, Victor and George Vela.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Maria and children and their families. Sons; Jimmy Vela and his wife Zina, and Jerry Vela and his wife Leticia, daughters; Diana Reyes and husband Alfredo, Cindy Maldonado and husband Tony and Melissa Gallardo and husband Rene, 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, as well as many other family members and friends
