Services for Charles Foster, 92, of Diboll, will be held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with U. S. Army Chaplain Travis Hairston officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Foster was born October 15, 1924 in Burke, Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late Mollie (Brashers) and Charlie M. Foster. He passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mr. Foster was a retired Church of Christ minister. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He volunteered with both the V.A. Clinic of Lufkin and the Charles Wilson V.A. Clinic of Lufkin for more than 25 years. He enjoyed reading his Bible, fishing, and playing "42." He also enjoyed baking for his friends and family. Mr. Foster served his country in the Merchant Marines and United States Air Force.

Survivors include his son, Elon Foster; son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Andrea Foster; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and DeWayne Kirkpatrick, Pamela Klimkiewicz, Candace and Wayne Hairston, and Connie and David Holley; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; and brother, John Garth Foster.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Mae (Hopson) Foster; and sister, Mary Hill.
