SCHOOLCRAFT--At the home of her sons, H. A. Schoolcraft, in Longmont, Friday, November 10, 1911, Mrs. Harriet E. Schoolcraft, aged 81 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Just as the bell from the Fire House rang for 12 o'clock last Friday, Mrs. Schoolcraft was called. A good mother gone to her reward, laving ninety living children, grand children, great grand children and three of them great-great grand-children. This is a remarkable record. Most of them live in Colorado, and a large number of them were present at the funeral. Among those from out of town were Mrs. Allie Harris and Frank Lamb of Pueblo, Mrs. Flora Belcher of Denver and Mrs. And Mrs. C. C. Branch of Gault.

Mrs. Harriet Eliza Bemis Schoolcraft was born in Malone, N. Y., Jan 23, 1830. Was married to C. C. Schoolcraft Feb. 3, 1849, at Malone, from which union nine children where born. Mr. and Mrs. Schoolcraft moved to Madison, Wis., in 1849, remaining till 1854, after which they went to High Forest, Wis., then back to New York in 1863, and from there to Estherville, Iowa, in 1869. In 1879 Mrs. Schoolcraft's health not being good they crossed the plains in a wagon on easy time, so that she would not feel the high elevation suddenly. They remained in Longmont, Mr. Schoolcraft's death occurring November 4, 1896, and Mrs. Schoolcraft has made her home with her children in our city.

Mrs. Schoolcraft united with the Baptist church at High Forest, Wis., about 1859, and was an active member of that demomination until her health failed and always a devoted wife and loving mother.

She leaves eight sons and daughters; H.A. Schoolcraft, S. C. Schoolcraft, Mrs. Ruth E. Lamb, Mrs. Henrietta Hoselton, Mrs. Sarah Sorby, Mrs. Flora Belcher, W. D. Schoolcraft and Mrs. Lydia Branch. There is also one brother in New York State.
