DYER, IN - John Paul Barth, 71, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2004. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor (nee Shoemake), of 43 years; his loving family: two sons, James (Mary) Barth of DeMotte and Reginald (Jane) Barth of Kokomo and two daughters Heather (Joseph) Snow of Wheatfield and Miss Holly M. Barth of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren: Stephanie (Mark) Svetich, Tiffany (Lee) Rosser, Ashley (Zack) Barber, James Johnathan Barth, Miss Valerie Barth, Teddy Barth, Miss Crystal Barth, Miss Jackie Barth, Miss Ginger Snow and twins Gwendolyn Snow and Rebecca Snow. Special granddaughter, foreign exchange student, Nevena Pivak of Croatia; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Andrew Rosser; one brother, Jerry (Patty) Barth of Pennsylvania; one sister, Barbara (Robert) Ahlenius of Texas; three cousins: Betty (Richard) Kessli of Massachusetts, David (Dian) Barth of California and Don (Wanda) Whitsitt of Illinois.

Mr. Barth was formerly employed with Sears Roebuck and Wards as an assistant manager; also employed at Libby, McNeill and Libby as an accountant until they sold to the Nestles Company. He was Vice President of a Northwest Indiana Bakery until his first heart bypass. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a Lieutenant. He was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Highland; he was the budget and personnel director of the Lake County Community Corrections; graduate of Milikin Univer-sity of Decatur IL, member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity; graduate of Millikin University, Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2004, 11 AM at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3711 Ridge Road, Highland, IN; Rev. James Milligan officiating. Entombment, Tippecanoe Memory Gardens; West Lafayette, IN.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Multiple Sclerosis or the American Diabetes Foundation.
