Jesse Linwood Cameron, 81, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Front Royal Church of the Brethren with Pastors Bobby and Diann Whetzel officiating. Interment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Mr. Cameron was born on July 20, 1935 in Harmony Hollow, Virginia, son of the late Robert Scott Cameron and Brucie Mae Mahoney Cameron.

He retired after 32 years from the U.S. Government and worked for Car Quest in Front Royal for many years as a parts delivery man.

Mr. Cameron was a member of the Front Royal Church of the Brethren, where he served as Deacon for over 30 years and taught Sunday School.

He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Rebekahs Lodge #374 in Front Royal.

Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley T. Cameron; one son, Rodney L. Cameron and wife Donna of Front Royal; three daughters, Wanda Dillon and husband Ken of Front Royal, Mary Matherly and husband Durward of Stafford and Denise Williams and husband Curtis of Chester Gap; one sister, Nannie Spears of Berkley Springs, WV; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and his faithful and loving cat, Charlie.

Pallbearers will be Mike Cameron, Greg Jones, Cameron Dillon, Aaron Mariano, Eric Rinker, Nathan Morris and Caleb Mariano.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Front Royal Church of the Brethren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Front Royal Church of the Brethren, 106 West 13th Street, Front Royal, VA 22630 or to the Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
