Mrs. William Richard Jones of Americus, Ga., passed away at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, Ga. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007. She was born Mary Lou Ariail on Jan. 25, 1925 in Maysville, Ga., to Omer Manson Ariail and Hattie Elizabeth Strange Ariail.
Mrs. Jones was a resident of Magnolia Manor Retirement Center, after having lived in Leslie, Ga., for 50 years. She was a member of Leslie Baptist Church, a charter member of the Town and Country Garden Club, the Council of Safety Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Pilot Club International, and Sumter Clean and Beautiful.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed her home and garden, reading, bridge, genealogy, and playing the piano. Most of all she loved being with and caring for her family and her many friends.
Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, and his wife; a daughter, and her husband; a granddaughter; a sister; and 12 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Quintin Dover, a brother Omer Gilbert Ariail, a sister Vivian Ariail Presley, a granddaughter Victoria Ariail Dover, and her husband, William Richard Jones.
There will be a visitation for family and friends this evening, Nov. 16, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral Services in Americus. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Leslie Baptist Church, with the burial following in Leslie Cemetery.
