Iris Johnson joined her eternal companion on Wednesday, September 8, 1999, for a glorious reunion just 12 days after he passed away.

Iris was born March 27, 1919, in Vernal, Utah, the daughter of Jesse and Ruth Ella Searle Taylor.

On June 6, 1935, Iris married Everett Johnson in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized November 24, 1959 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with three children. They spent their married life in Scipio, Ogden, Dragerton (East Carbon) and Washington Terrace. Everett died August 27, 1999.

Mom was an immaculate homemaker, a wonderful cook, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren loved to visit her in her home where they were treated royally.

She was a member of the Washington Terrace 1st Ward of the LDS Church and loved her relationship with the Relief Society sisters as they worked together and quilted and tied numerous quilts.

She enjoyed serving others and shared her talents. She was a beautiful seamstress and made numerous wedding dresses along with all the dresses for each bride's attendants at the weddings.

Iris was a very devoted wife and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Iris left a legacy for all to follow and will surely be missed.

Surviving are two sons, and one daughter, Jerry (Beverly) Johnson, Spring City, Utah; David (Linda) Johnson, Fruit Heights; Kathy (Bill) Fidler, North Ogden; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Theo Maisey officiating.

Friends may visit at the mortuary on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Intermet, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family expresses a deep appreciation to the staff and residents of the Mount Ogden Nursing Home where they witnessed an enormous outpouring of friendship, love, and service to their mother during the past six years she spent time with them.
