He is survived by his wife Essie Jones; two sons Chris Jones (Lisa) and Russell Jones (Lisa); grandchildren Ryan, Amanda, Matthew, Emily, Josh and Courtney; four great-grandchildren Harrison, Weston, Michael and Kaiya; brother Wilbur Jones.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty AshworthJones. He was a native of Madison County and served in the Korean War in combat.
He was a minister for over 60 years in Limestone County, Madison County, and Lincoln County, TN. Most importantly he was a great Dad.
Rev. Jones will lie in state on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Meridianville. The funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, at 11:00 at the church with Rev. Jerome Hillard and Rev. Tommy Bolan officiating. Burial will be in State Line Cemetery.
