She retired from the Wing On Inn Restaurant after 20 years.
She had an inner strength that could move mountains, a faith that only miracles are made of and a kindness that could lift the saddest heart. Her loving, gracious spirit was contagious, touching everyone whom was blessed to be around her. She treated every day as a gift, though she herself was a gift to every day. Her fearless devotion to her family and her timeless dedication to her friends served as an inspiration to us all. She will always be remembered as the Queen, the Queen of our hearts and of all that is beautiful in this world.
Janie is survived by her loving spouse, whom she married Nov. 5, 1973, Bill Nelson of Anderson; daughter, Chastity R Nelson of Anderson; son, Joe Ray (Amy) Nelson of Anderson; mother, Opal Dishman of Indianapolis; sister, Frances (Jean) Thompson of Alexandria; brother, Arnold (Connie) Dishman of Indianapolis; sister, Deborah (Daniel) Segner of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Millie (Zack) Williams, Alec Nelson, Ethan Meed, and Tara Nelson; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by father, JT Dishman, and two brothers, Jimmy Dishman and Terry Dishman.
Graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Richland Township Cemetery with Father Dan Duff officiating.
Cremation will take place and burial will take place in Richland Township Cemetery, Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Society or Cystic Fibrosis.
