In 1850 David was farming in District 56, Rockingham Co., Virginia, USA. All 5 of his sons ranging from 18 to 8 were at home. David's estate was valued at $14,000.00.
Abt. 1856, the wedding of son, Benjamin, took place and the next wedding, on 11 Nov 1857, was for Abram, and before the 1860 census Madison was married.
David's home in 1860 was at District 1, Rockingham Co., Virginia, Post Office, Harrisonburg, Virginia, and he was still farming. He had done well in the last 10 years, because his real estate had grown to $43,520.00, and had $5,325.00 in personal assets. Sons Abram and Benjamin had farms to the right and left of him, and it appears that their farming was a family affair.
On 3 Aug 1867, it was a sad day for the family. Their beloved father and husband had passed away. A burial plot at the Rader Lutheran Church Cemetery, Rockingham Co., Virginia, was selected, and family and friends gathered to bid their dear David Armentrout a fond farewell.
