Born in Cumberland MD on December 31, 1944, Jack was the son of the late John P. Winner II and Angela Spriggs Winner. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister Nancy W. Seymour and his beloved Aunt, Sister Blanche Spriggs. Jack grew up in Hopewell, VA and was a 1963 graduate of Prince George H.S. He attended Richard Bland College and was a Vietnam era U.S. Air Force veteran. After leaving the Air Force in 1970, Jack went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller, first in Roanoke, VA then settling in Norfolk, VA in 1975. After his career with the FAA Jack worked in civil service for the Navy as a Computer Specialist. Jack was an outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed hiking, fishing, and skiing as his favored activities. His survivors include his wife of 46 years, a daughter, 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws, 4 grandchildren, a brother, sister, and a sister-in-law.
