Mr. Burgess was born near Streby and was engaged in farming until he retired several years ago and went to live with Mrs. Rotruck. He was born May 14, 1877, and was seventy-two years, ten months and fifteen days. There were thirteen children in th family, and four are left to mourn his loss, namely; J.W. Burgess, Petersburg; C.J. Burgess, Streby; Mrs. Charles Law, Arthur; and Mrs. Dolly Rotruck, of Greenland.
Funeral services were conducted at the Streby Church of the Brethren of which he was a member, by the Rev. Norman A Seese, Monday morning and interment was made in the Burgess cemetery.
