William Henry Aiken, Sr., 92, died Monday, February 20, 2017. He was born in Durham County to the late Joseph Y. and Lillie McFarland Aiken. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin Aiken, Alvis Aiken, and Jasper Aiken; and one sister, Mildred A Stevens.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Bowling Aiken, of the home; four children, William Henry Aiken, Jr., of Rougemont, Bonny A. Thomas and husband Bill, of Hillsborough, Joe Aiken and wife Debbie, of Bahama, and Glyn Aiken and wife Laura, of Durham; six grandchildren, Daniel Aiken, Brad Aiken (Ashley), Matthew Aiken (Brooke), Lisa Johns, Jessica Aiken, and Kelly Griffin and husband Chris; and three great-grandchildren, Jaden Griffin, Jordan Griffin, and Jenna Griffin.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Brooks and White Chapel with the Dr. M. David Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:00 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Brooks and White Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Lisa Johns, Daniel Aiken, Brad Aiken, Matthew Aiken, Kelly Griffin, Chris Griffin, David Aiken and Phil McCarson. Honorary pallbearer will be Merritt Jones.
