Alonzo Jones Jr., 66, of 460 Brown Lane, died 8:30 a.m. Wed:, May 13, in his home.

Born in Nebo, July 29, 1920, he was the son of the late Alonzo Jones Sr., and Winnie Pate Jones.

He was a retired mechanic, last employed by Madisonville Motors; member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Ora Mae Vannoy Jones, Brown Lane; four sons, Ronald, Bobby, Roger and Jerry Jones, all of Madisonville; one daughter Carol McGregor, Madisonville; five brothers, Ruby, Marvin, Clyde and Raymond Jones, all of Madisonville, and Bill Jones, North Carolina; five sisters, Lorene Harrison, Magodoni Pate, and Peggy Oldham, all of Madisonville, Jean Duemore, Manitou, and Effie Kyle, Utah; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Fri., May 15 at Harris-Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Cox Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and Friday until the funeral hour at Harris.

Alonzo Jones Jr. was born July 29, 1920 in Nebo KY to Alonzo and Winnie Pate Jones. He married Ora Mae Vannoy and had four sons: Ronald, Bobby, Roger and Jerry Jones and a daughter, Carol McGregor.

He entered the Army September 8, 1942 and was discharged September 20, 1945. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon w/4 Bronze Stars w/Bronze Arrowhead and Good Conduct Medal.

He died May 13, 1987 and was buried in Cox Cemetery.
