Stephen Lee Roper was born to George and Betty (Krieger) Roper on November 2, 1951, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the 3rd of 5 children, and passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer at his home in Milford at the age of 65. He was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School. He served in the Lincoln Unit of the Nebraska Army National Guard for seven years. Stephen was a diesel mechanic for most of his life.

Stephen was preceded in death by father, George, brother Larry, sister Martha, and brothers-in-law Allan and Jim.

Survived by mother, Betty; sons Jacen and Joshua (Julia); daughter Julie (Matt) Hauschild; and sisters Diane and Debbie (Dale). He has eight grandchildren, one great- grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Stephen's request, there are no services planned, but a graveside of his cremated remains will be held at a later date.
