Gloria was born April 21, 1938, in Kansas City, MO. She is the daughter of the late William and the late Mildred Jane (Posey) Bingham. She married William Jewell O’Dell, Jr on September 28, 1956 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. She and her husband raised a family of two boys and one girl in rural Ray County. They were married for almost 44 years until his death in 2000.
Gloria was known to be a spit fire lady who spoke her mind. She loved her children and her dogs to the moon and back. In her early years, she worked at the Ball Clinic in Excelsior Springs. But Gloria was most proud of being a hair stylist for more than 50 years in the Excelsior Springs area. Her life was a life well lived, full of family and joy. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by one daughter: Gaichylle (Rick “Fred”) Smith, and two sons: Blake O’Dell and Barry O’Dell; dear family friend, John Beaugh, and three brothers: Gregory Bingham, Galen Bingham, and Michael Bingham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great Plains SPCA, 21001 East 78 Highway, Independence, MO 64057.
