Charles Edward Bullock

Charles Edward Bullock went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2017. Charles was born on May 24, 1926 in Laurel County. He was the father of Eddie Bullock of Carmel, Indiana and Debbie Bullock-Hedges (Chuck) of Lexington, Kentucky. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hillary, and Chase Bullock (Amaris); and Reagan and Emily Mackey. He was the brother of Pauline Bullock of London. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha McCarty Bullock; father, Luther Theodore Bullock; his brother, John Luther Bullock; and his beloved wife, Mattye Lee Turner Bullock. Other survivors include a special family friend, Jackie Martin and care-giver Melissa Dugger. Charles was a member of First Baptist Church in London, Kentucky. Charles was taken out of his senior year of high school in 1942 to serve in World War II and returned home at the end of the war in 1945. He was awarded a Bronze Star, a medal awarded for acts of heroism, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service within a combat zone. He was presented with an official Laurel County High School diploma in 2015, more than 70 years after his attendance at Hazel Green High School. Charles was the owner of Bullock Lumber Company in London, Kentucky for more than 35 years after taking over the business from his father. Funeral services for Charles Bullock will be conducted on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at London Funeral Home in London with Reverend Jerry Wright officiating. Entombment will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park.
