Dr. Collinson Pierrepont Edwards Burgwyn, 69, of Clarksville, Tenn., died Monday, Dec. 5, 1994.

He was a son of the late George Pollok and Emily Bartlett Roper. Dr. Burgwyn was a 1943 Petersburg (Virginia) High School graduate, attended the College of William and Mary and was an outstanding alumnus, a 1948 Medical College of Virginia graduate, a member of the Jamestowne Society, Mayflower Society, Sons of the American Revolution and a life member of the VMI Foundation. During the Korean War he was a captain in the U.S. Navy and served as a flight surgeon on the USS Leyte. Dr. Burgwyn practiced gynecological medicine in Petersburg from 1959 to 1965, at Riverside Hospital in Newport News from 1965 to 1978 and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell, Ky., from 1978 to 1994.

Surviving are a daughter, two sons, two grandsons, two brothers, Nathaniel T.R. Burgwyn, of Richmond, and Bartlett Roper Burgwyn, of Jackson, N.C.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 1994, at 1 p.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Savior, Jackson, N.C., with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
