YONCE, Elizabeth "Liz" Waymack, born November 30, 1915, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Friday, February 17, 2017. She is reunited with her husband of 66 years, Broadus Buren Yonce; and son, Thomas Yonce. She is survived by her sons, John Yonce (Marion) and Charles Yonce (Julie); and daughter-in-law, Kathy Yonce. She is loved by her six grandchildren, David (Laura), Benjamin (Stacey), Adam (Negar), Chaz (Lauren), Russell (Jenny) and Stephanie (Ruben); and her eight great-grandchildren, Veronica, Gillian, Charlie, Gavin, Calvin, Zoe, Benjamin and Aida. Loved by many who knew her, she was also a repeated president of the Maury Elementary School PTA, an officer in the Virginia State PTA and a 59-year member of the Westover Baptist Church. She was a significant influence in the lives of her family and community and will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Maury Cemetery.
