Doris M. Fredrick, 83, Springfield, Ill., formerly of Greencastle, died Sunday Jan. 14, 2007 at Mill Creek Special Care Center.
Born May 20, 1923 in Little York, Ill., she was the daughter of James Burton and Jenny Matilda Victoria (Sward) Allen.
She was a graduate of Alexis High School in Illinois and received a nursing degree from the Augustanna Lutheran School of Nursing. She had been a nurse for Dr. Richard Veach and Dr. Bruce Gastineau for several years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Greencastle Christian Church and volunteered at the Putnam County Hospital.
She married Howard Leslie Fredrick on Feb. 14, 1945. He preceded her in death in March of 1985.
Survivors include daughter, Leslie Fredrick, Springfield; and sister Mary Bertelson and husband Don, Little York.
She was preceded in death by her parent, husband and brother James Allen.
