Herb was employed at Meadow Brook Dairy and then General Electric Company until he retired. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Higby, and one daughter, Doris Mingoy, and seven brothers and sisters.
Herb is survived by five children, David Higby, Diane Bennett, Donald Higby (Josephine), Debra Firment (Ted), and Darlene Fisher (Greg); one brother, Harold Higby (Nancy); eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Burial with military honors at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
