Leo Joseph Giovando, Sr, age 61, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at his home near Piedmont.
He was born January 11, 1956 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of Albert Giovando and Margaret (Mayfield) Giovando.
Leo was married to Vicki Landing November 15, 1975 and had been a long time resident of Piedmont. He was a mechanic, an EMT for the Clearwater Ambulance District, and former chief of the Clearwater Fire Protection District. He was of the baptist faith.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Albert and Margaret Giovando and one brother, Stephen Giovando.
Survivors include his wife Vicki, of the home, 3 children, Leo Giovando, Jr. and his wife Kristy Ann, of Fenton, MO, Travis Giovando and his wife Jennifer, of Piedmont, Shana Winchester and her husband Michael, Jr., of Piedmont. 1 brother, Albert Giovando and his wife Ann Cecilia, of Collinsville, IL, 3 sisters, Beverly Mumper and her husband Earl, of Piedmont, Antonette Modglin and her husband Harry, of Fairview Heights, IL, Mary Statler and her husband Ted, of Piedmont, and 1 sister in law, Jeanne Giovando, of Piedmont.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Nicholas Joseph, Anthony Joseph, Baylee Layne, Falyn Elizabeth, Arianna Madison, Amelia Grace and Quinn Avery.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Street officiating.
Interment will be in the Meador Flatwoods Cemetery near Piedmont
