Vida B. Wood, 94, of 303 Virginia, Carterville, formerly of Herrin, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1982 at her home in Carterville.
She was formerly employed at Ellis' Store Co. in Carterville and at Sohn's Mens Clothing store in Herrin. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Carterville.
She was born Oct. 11, 1887, in Makanda to Jesse M. and Sarah E. Moore Brown.
She was married to George Wood, who died in 1979.
Survivors include one sister, Ermina Hadfield of Carterville and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Riggin-Pillatsch Funeral Home in Carterville. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
