John LaRue Hendley, 85, formerly of rural Nicollet, died Sunday at Lake Crystal Nursing Home. Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Judson, the Rev. Paul Lutz officiating. Burial is in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation begins at Landkamer Funeral Home at noon Tuesday. It will continue at the church an hour before services.
Mr. Hendley was born August 12, 1888, in Nicollet Township. He married Ida Silkey of Smiths' Mill in 1914 and was a retired farmer who had also lived in Hamilton, Montana.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla (C.K.) Dalton of Helena, Montana, a granddaughter, Rose Marie Ley of Nicollet, two sisters, Melissa Johnson and Lucretia Hansen, both of Minneapolis, and a brother, Gerald H. Hendley of Nicollet.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Ida, in 1946, and one son, Jared Andrew, one sister Bernice and a brother Louis J. Hendley.
