Faye Gummersall Erickson passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at Edgewood Spring Creek Manor surrounded by family after a short illness.

She was born Oct. 31, 1927, the youngest of five children born to Henry Smith Gummersall and Martha Forman Gummersall and was raised on their ranch in Ivins.

She graduated from North Gem High School. She met Grant Bunderson Erickson at a dance and they were married in the Logan Utah temple April 29, 1949. They are the parents of 7 children, 22 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way.

Faye was an active member of the LDS Church and served in the Primary, Cub Scouts, as Relief Society quilting chairman and stake dance director with Grant. They worked together in the Logan temple as ordinance workers.

Her interests revolved around her home and family. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and quilting, square dancing, gardening, camping, fishing and was a great sports fan. She will be remembered for the beautiful flowers she carefully tended around her home and being an active and sometimes vocal fan at all local sports events. She was a wonderful cook and all family and friends remember many delicious meals and her perfect rolls.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband Grant, her parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her children- Sheila (Skip) Overby of West Jordan, UT, Alan (Cindy) Erickson of Soda Springs, Kevin (Mary Sue) Erickson of Mt. View, WY, Renee (Phil) Garvin of Meridian, ID, Laurie (Joe) O'Neil of Idaho Falls, Linda (Gary) Todd of Kemmerer, WY, and Brent (Tracie) Erickson of Soda Springs.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Spring Creek for their kind and professional care during these last few difficult years. We are all happy for her to be dancing again with the love of her life. Family and friends may visit Sunday, Feb. 26 from 6-8pm at Sims Funeral Home and also Monday Feb. 27, 9:30-10:30am at the LDS Stake Center with services at 11am with Bishop Larry Simmons officiating.
