Lula passed away at the home of her daughter. She was the third of ten siblings, grew up in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. On April 11,1944, she married Emery in Logan Utah LDS Temple. After farming in the Osgood Area for 37 years, they retired to Shelley. When Emery passed away she moved to Idaho Falls where she lived for nine years. Lula enjoyed serving others and had unconditional love for everyone. During her life she had many hobbies and talents, some of which were, designing and sewing dresses, playing the piano and harmonica by ear, making family history books and doing genealogy. As a teenager she loved to ice skate. Friends and neighbors would park at Rexburg School to watch her skate. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and faithfully served in many callings, her favorite being in the Primary nursery. Preceding was granddaughter Annie Lee Reese. Survivors included: children Brenda Thorpe (Tom) of Ogden, UT, Doug Meikle of Idaho Falls, Ida Ryan (Kim) of lona, Colleen Albiston (Dave) of Lehi, UT and Shirley Reese (Dave) of Idaho Falls; sister Dixie Allred (Darwin) of Logan UT; brother Wayne Griffin (Delilah) of Jameston; 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Funeral services held February 18th at Ammon 2nd Ward at 1100 S, Tiebreaker. Bishop Lorin McArthur officiated. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home. Memorial donations made to Encompass Hospice, 3686 Washington Parkway, Idaho Falls 83404.
