He was married 1st on December 11, 1885 in Davidson County, Tennessee to Elizabeth Alford (1861–1892). He was married 2nd on July 23, 1893 in Williamson County to Harriet Florence "Hattie" Ervin (1868–1921), and he was married 3rd on October 7, 1923 in Williamson County as the 1st husband of Mary Horton (1896–1972).
Living on Radner Lake Road in Nashville, he was 77 years old when he died at home of paralysis on September 21, 1935. Burial was two days later in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
