Parents were Joseph Wall (1811-1881), and Frances Allen (1811-1885)

Obituary from "The Daily Republican," dated Monday, December 27, 1909, page 4.

"FRANCES WALL LINN

On Sunday morning at 3:15 o'clock, occurred the death of Mrs. Frances Wall Linn, widow of the late Dr. George A. Linn. The news came as a shock to everyone, for scarcely had it become known that she was ill when the startling intelligence followed, that she had passed away. It seemed as if the truth could not be accepted and for those to whom she was nearest and dearest, the suddenness of the end made it even more difficult to bear, so illy prepared were they for the blow.

Mrs. Linn retired in her usual health on Wednesday night, rising early on Thursday, as was her custom, and was later discovered in her room, in a semi-conscious condition. Physician and nurse were quickly summoned and everything within power, was done for her, but without avail. She never rallied from the first attack until Sabbath morning, when she passed over the border.

The deceased, who before her marriage in 1861 to Dr. Linn, was Miss Frances Wall, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Allen Wall and was born in 1843 in Allegheny county being a twin sister of Mrs. S.B. Bentley, of Donora, who survives her, together with a daughter and only child, Mrs. Hallie Linn Swaney.

For many years the family home was in the Linn building on Main street, where a generous hospitality was known to many, who will not forget Mrs. Linn's gentle hand clasp, nor the sincerity and sweetness of her welcoming smile. After the death of her beloved husband, who passed away April 5, 1908, Mrs. Linn and her daughter removed to their new home, where they have resided since last February. There was no good deed in which this estimable woman was not glad to have a share; a faithful member of the Presbyterian church; one of the leading officers of the auxillary of the Memorial hospital; there were none so lowly that they could not arouse her sympathy; a lover of dumb animals, they ever found in her a protector and friend. Even the memory of her life will be uplifting, for it was blameless; her acquaintances admired; and respected her, her friends loved her.

The funeral services will be held at the late home Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock and private interment will follow in the Monongahela cemetery."
