He owned and operated B&B Trucking Company for 40 years and was a member of the Pinson United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
His first love was to build and race cars and he was an avid golfer.
Preceding him in death were his parents Carl and Lillie Townsend Buttram; brother Sonny Buttram and sister Faye Price.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Martha Hilton Buttram of Pinson; son Jerry Buttram of Oneonta; daughter Jill Buttram of Panama City, FL.; grandchildren Chris Stewart (Daphne) of Addison and Kimberly Underwood (Jason) of Oneonta; great grandchildren Brody Underwood, Ty H. Underwood, Lane Stewart and Kylee Stewart.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2017 from the Pinson United Methodist Church from 12 Noon until service time. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 PM at the Church with Rev. Baxter Chisolm officiating. Burial will be in the Marvin's Chapel Cemetery.
