A graveside service for Mildred H. Ballew, age 81, of Rusk is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 in Salem Cemetery with Rev. Don Copeland officiating.

Ms. Ballew passed away January 31, 2017 in a Jacksonville hospital.

She was born February 1, 1935 in Rusk to the late Carl Allen and Nora Jackson Hanvy.

Ms. Ballew was a member of First Baptist Church in Rusk and worked and retired as a Registered Nurse for Nan Travis Hospital, Home Health, Rusk State Hospital and TDCJ.

She enjoyed crafts, reading, friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Stephen M. Ballew, grandson, James Stephen Ballew, three sisters, Patsey Bowden, Joyce and Carlene Hanvy.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Elbert and Becky Ballew, Edwin and Renda Ballew, one daughter, Bobby L. Burch, sister, Judy Stewart, brother, Billy Hanvy, nine grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Dustin Ballew, Craig Ballew, Jerry Ballew, Mitch Ballew, Brian Penka, Charles Ballew and great grandsons.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
