Daniel Henry Ginzel, 74 of College Station, Texas A&M Class of '65, passed away February 3, 2017, gathered into His Saviour's arms after a long battle with cancer and West Nile virus. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin William Ginzel and mother, Martha Marie Haisler Ginzel. He is survived by his aunt, Lillie Lydia Haisler of Caldwell; uncle, LeRoy Stanley Ginzel of Baytown, Texas and family; his wife of 51 years, Sherry Olivette Smith Ginzel of College Station; and son, Daniel Davin Ginzel of Auburn, Alabama; and daughter, Sarah Cowart of Marquez. Also surviving is his older brother, Alwilliam James Ginzel and Martha Sue Gough Ginzel and family of Frisco, Texas. Ginzel was a Captain in the United States Air Force, serving from 1966 and honorably discharged in 1973. From there he worked for Gulf Oil in Houston before returning to College Station. He worked as a comptroller and office manager; his last place of employment was Brazos Valley Communications. His experience also included software development, electronics, telecommunications and finance. As a young man, he raced go-karts and later followed NASCAR. Over the past 20 years, he developed an extensive genealogical database and recently discovered wild animal live video streams. There will be no memorial service.
