Donna Workman Goaslind, beloved wife, mother, grandma-Donna and great-grandma-Donna passed away peacefully on the morning of February 5, 2017. Donna was the last of her generation to move on to the eternal glory of our Father-in-Heaven and his son, Jesus Christ.
Donna was the third child of William Lawrence Workman and Sarah Edith Kirkham and was born in Preston Idaho on August 8, 1915. She lived a glorious 101 years.
Donna's life spanned the greatest times in the history of mankind, being born during the 1st World War and surviving into the digital era.
Donna married Earl Hawkes Goaslind on June 7, 1938 in the Logan LDS Temple. She is survived by her four children: Craig (Sandra), Gary, Tad (Nadine) and Leisa (Kib), 13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Donna was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully fulfilled all callings to which she was called.
Donna, born in Preston, Idaho, traveled with her mother by train at two weeks old to Rainbow, UT (presently a ghost town located southeast of Vernal) where her father worked as the superintendent of the gilsonite mine. She attended a one-room schoolhouse for all grades until she finished the 3rd grade when her family moved back to Preston, ID. She finished her schooling there (many years with perfect attendance) and graduated from Preston High School at the age of 16.
Donna loved to travel and see the world. Some of those travels took her to England, France, Germany, Holland and many parts of the United States. She also visited Mexico, Central America and Chile. She and Earl even floated down the Colorado River before Glen Canyon Dam was built.
Donna lost her sweetheart in 1990 and continued to live a full and independent life in Kaysville for 28 more years, keeping an immaculate home, yard and garden. Her home was always welcoming and she loved to have "company."
She walked on a daily basis all around Kaysville well into her early 90's and served others whenever she could. She would attend all events, school functions, plays, movies, and sporting events to which she was invited. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan as well as other sporting games broadcast on TV. It wasn't unusual to end phone calls early or even schedule Home Teaching visits around these games.
All of her children and grandchildren will remember the wonderful family gatherings on all Christmas' and 4ths of July. The food was plentiful and the associations between brothers, sister, cousins and grandchildren were fun and memorable. She had many wonderful and close friends from multiple generations.
She lived in her same home that she and Earl built near Davis High for 60+ years and later moved to The Villas at Baer Creek on Main Street for her last 2 years, but keeping her mind and wit sharp until the very end. And of course, always had her earrings in and nails painted. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and will be missed by many.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, granddaughter, Madison and great-granddaughter, Abigail.

Viewings will be held on February 13, 2017 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main St., Farmington, Utah, from 6-8pm and from 9:45-10:45am at the church prior to services.
